Muscular
System
The human body have over 650 different muscles.
The body functions and move by contractions of these muscles. The
contractions pull on whatever is attached to the muscle. Muscles
never push. They only pull.
There are two types:
o Involuntary muscles - which cannot be
controlled
o Voluntary muscles - that can be
controlled
Muscles are made up of muscle fibers. Exercise can
make these fibers grow larger or tear. Tearing increases the number of
muscle fibers. Both processes can make a muscle stronger.
