Hypoglycemia is a condition most
often caused by the pancreas secreting too much insulin which causes low blood
sugar levels. If the pancreas is not functioning properly then good carbohydrate
metabolism is not possible. A person who has hypoglycemia may have the following
symptoms: dizzy, tired, light headed, irritable, anxiety, want to eat sweets,
night sweats, depression, swollen
feet, weakness in the legs, tightness in the chest, nervous habits, and insomnia.
People that have hypoglycemia can become angry, aggressive, and lose their
tempers easily. The symptoms normally occur a few hours after eating sweets or
fats. More and more people today have hypoglycemia because of poor diet and
nutrition. Stress also is also believed to increase the
risk. Hypoglycemia can also be a warning sign for diabetes.

| Hypoglycemic symptoms and manifestations can be divided into
those produced by hormones such as epinephrinem, adrenaline, and glucagon
triggered by the falling glucose levels. And also the various
neuroglycopenic effects that are produced by the reduced sugar in the brain.
Symptoms of hypoglycemia include:
* Headache
* Shakiness
* Anxiety and nervousness
* Palpitations
* Sweating and feeling warm
* Cold
* Dilated pupils
* Numbness
* Hunger
* Nausea / vomiting
* Abdominal pain
* Confusion
* Amnesia
* Dizziness
* Fatigue and weakness
* Apathy
* Sleep problems

All of the above symptoms do not occur in every case of hypoglycemia. And
there is not a consistent order in the appearance of symptoms. Specific symptoms
can also vary by age, severity of the hypoglycemia, and the the speed of the
decline. In younger children, vomiting may sometimes occur with morning
hypoglycemia and ketosis. While in older children and adults, a moderately
severe hypoglycemia may appear like a form of mental illness, drug
intoxication, or even drunkenness.
In older persons, hypoglycemia may create stroke like effects. The symptoms of a
single person are normally similar with each occurrence, but are not always and
may be influenced by the speed of the glucose sugar levels dropping down as well
as prior incidence.
In most nearly all cases of hypoglycemia that are bad enough to cause either seizures
or unconsciousness might be reversed without harm to the brain. The cases of
death or some form of permanent neurological damage happening with a single
episode have normally prolonged, untreated unconsciousness, breathing
interference / problems, or some other form of weakness. Even so brain damage or
death is sometimes possible from severe hypoglycemia.
Hypoglycemic symptoms may also happen when sleeping, and examples of symptoms
during sleep can include damp bed sheets or wet clothes from sweat. Also having
nightmares or crying out might be an indicator of hypoglycemia. And afterward
when the person is awake they can feel tired, irritable, in a bad mood,
confused, and these can also be signs of hypoglycemia.
The bets way of preventing further episodes of hypoglycemia depends on the
cause. The risk of further episodes of diabetic hypoglycemia may be reduced by
lowering the dose of insulin or other prescription medications, or by paying
close attention to blood sugar balance especially during unusual hours, higher
amounts of exercise, or when drinking alcohol.
Much of the metabolism problems require avoidance or shortening of fasting
intervals, or extra carbohydrates. For the more severe disorders, such as "type
1 glycogen storage disease", this can be done in the form of cornstarch
every few hours or by some type of continuous gastric infusion.
Hypoglycemia due to hormone deficiencies such as hypopituitarism or adrenal
insufficiency normally stops when the right hormone is replaced. Hypoglycemia
that is caused by "dumping syndrome" and other post surgical
conditions is best handled by changing your diet. That includes fats, protein,
and carbohydrates that can slow digestion and also reduce insulin secretion. It
is known that some forms of this can respond to treatment with a glucosidase
inhibitor that slows down the body's starch digestion.

amounts can heal itself.
"Most people do not consume an optimal amount of all vitamins by diet
alone. Pending strong evidence of effectiveness from randomized trials, it
appears prudent for all adults to take vitamin supplements." - JAMA
Journal of the American Medical Association 6/12/2002 Vol 287
There are
hundreds of studies which show the risk of cancer, heart disease, and other top
killers is reduced by eating more than just the minimal RDA standards.

You would not think of exposing yourself to an Atomic Bomb fallout or
excessive X-rays. But not getting enough vitamins and minerals is just as
dangerous. Cells in your body not getting their vitamins and minerals suffer
both DNA and mitochondrial damage. These cells under a microscope look like they
have been hit with radiation. This type of damage may cause you to age faster
and can lead to Cancer
and other degenerative diseases like Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, and others.
