When your heart pumps blood through arteries, the blood pushes up against the
walls of the blood vessels. In people who have hypertension,
this pressure is very high. Whether a person's blood pressure is high, low, or
normal, depends on many factors: output from their heart, resistance to blood
flow of the blood vessels, volume of blood, and blood distribution to all of the
organs. Each of these factors may be affected by the your body's hormones and
the activities of the nervous system. If your blood pressure is raised, the
heart must work harder to pump the required amount of blood to all body
tissues. This health problem often leads to things like kidney
failure, heart failure, and stroke also high blood
pressure is often associated with coronary heart disease, arteriosclerosis,
kidney disorders, obesity, diabetes,
hyperthyroidism, and adrenal tumors. |

50+ million people in the United States have high blood
pressure. According to the U.S. Public Health Service, hypertension affects more
than 50% of all Americans over 65 years old. The percentage of the
African-American population with high blood pressure is around 33% higher than
that for whites. African-Americans between 24 and 45 years old are 18 times more
likely than whites to develop kidney failure due to hypertension. Men have
hypertension more often than women, but the risk for women rises after menopause
and the risk level becomes closer to that of men. A woman's risk of high blood
pressure also increases if she takes oral contraceptives or is pregnant. High
blood pressure normally causes no symptoms until serious complications occur,
thus it is called as the silent killer. The warning signs
associated with HBP and hypertension may include headaches, sweating, rapid
pulse, shortness of breath, dizziness, and visual disturbances. click

| Yes, uncontrolled high blood pressure can injure or kill you.
It's sometimes called "the silent killer" because HBP has no symptoms,
so you may not be aware that it's damaging your arteries, heart and other
organs.
Possible health consequences that can happen over time when high blood
pressure is left untreated include:
- Damage to the heart and coronary arteries, including heart attack, heart
disease, congestive heart failure, aortic dissection and atherosclerosis (fatty
buildups in the arteries that cause them to harden)
- Stroke
- Kidney damage
- Vision loss
- Erectile dysfunction
- Memory loss
- Fluid in the lungs
- Angina
|
|
But remember, these are not symptoms of HBP. High blood pressure is a
symptomless disease except in its most extreme cases known as hypertensive
crisis. When blood pressure readings rise to 180 or above for the
systolic --- top --- number OR 110 or above for the diastolic ---
bottom --- number, call for emergency medical treatment immediately.
Individuals whose blood pressure is higher than 140/90 mm Hg (140 systolic or
above OR 90 diastolic or above) often become patients treated for serious
cardiovascular problems.
Your risk increases even more if you have high blood pressure along with
other risk factors:

You
have a wonderful human body that when given the right nutrients in the right
amounts can heal itself.
"Most people do not consume an optimal amount of all vitamins by diet
alone. Pending strong evidence of effectiveness from randomized trials, it
appears prudent for all adults to take vitamin supplements." - JAMA
Journal of the American Medical Association 6/12/2002 Vol 287
There are
hundreds of studies which show the risk of cancer, heart disease, and other top
killers is reduced by eating more than just the minimal RDA standards.
Prevention
is the main defense from disease. Detoxification and having proper nutritional
balance is the treatment. Natural foods, herbs, vitamins and supplements to
support your body's natural healing.

You would not think of exposing yourself to an Atomic Bomb fallout or
excessive X-rays. But not getting enough vitamins and minerals is just as
dangerous. Cells in your body not getting their vitamins and minerals suffer
both DNA and mitochondrial damage. These cells under a microscope look like they
have been hit with radiation. This type of damage may cause you to age faster
and can lead to Cancer
and other degenerative diseases like Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, and others.
