| Asthma is a lung
disease that involves blockage of airflow. During an asthma attack, the bronchi
in the lungs will get smaller and make it hard to get the air out of the
lungs. Normal symptoms of an asthma attack are coughing, tightness in the chest
area, and difficulty in breathing. the number of people suffering from asthma
has risen by almost 30%. People with asthma maybe not getting enough B vitamins,
magnesium, selenium, vitamin C, or manganese. Exposure to chemicals often is a
problem for people with asthma and they should avoid things like urethane,
polyurethane, rubber epoxy resins, car fumes, cigarette smoke and other forms of
pollution. Dust mites in carpets, furniture, and your bed can also be a problem
which a good vacuum can help get rid of. It is very helpful for asthma sufferers
to reduce their stress. Emotions like
worry and fear can cause asthma attacks. It is also good to avoid eating foods
with sulfites. click here for more information |

| Common symptoms of asthma include wheezing, shortness of breath,
chest tightness and coughing, and use of accessory muscle. Symptoms are often
worse at night or in the early morning, or in response to exercise or cold air.
Some people with asthma only rarely experience symptoms, usually in response to
triggers, whereas other may have marked persistent airflow obstruction
GERD or Gastro-esophageal reflux disease often occurs with asthma in over 80%
of people with asthma, with similar symptoms. There are various theories say
that asthma could facilitate GERD and/or vice-versa. The first case might be due
to several factors including: the effect of change in thoracic pressures, use of
antiasthma drugs, could facilitate the passage of the gastric content back into
the esophagus by increasing abdominal pressure or decreasing the lower
esophageal sphincter. The second by promoting bronchoconstriction and irritation
by chronic acid aspiration, vagally mediated reflexes and others factors that
increase bronchial responsiveness and irritation.
Asthma is normally caused by both environmental and genetic factors and these
factors influence how severe asthma is and how well the disease responds to
medications.
Studying the prevalence of asthma and related diseases such as eczema
and hay fever have provided many
important clues about some key risk factors. The biggest risk factor for
developing asthma is a history of atopic disease because this increases a
person's risk of hay fever by up to 5 times and the risk of asthma by around 4
times. In children between the ages of 3 to 14, a positive skin test for
allergies and an increase in immunoglobulin E increases the chance of suffering
asthma problems. In adults, the more allergens that the person reacts to
positively in a skin test indicates higher risk of having asthma. |

Most allergic asthma is associated with a sensitivity to indoor allergens and
due to Western styles of housing much attention has been focused on
increased exposure to these allergens in infancy and early childhood as a
primary cause of the rising rates of asthma. Prevention research studies aimed
at the reduction of airborne allergens in a home with infants has shown mixed
results. The reduction of dust mite allergens, for example, reduces the risk of
allergic sensitization to dust mites, and also modestly reduces the risk of
developing asthma up until around the age of 8. But studies also show the
effects of exposure to cat and dog allergens worked in an opposing manner where
exposure during the first year of life was found to reduce the risk of allergic
sensitization and of developing asthma later in the person's life.
The inconsistency of this data has inspired other research into other aspects
of Western society and their impact upon the risk of asthma. One topic that
seems to show a strong correlation is the development of asthma and obesity.
In both the United Kingdom and United States, the rise in asthma has mirrored an
almost epidemic rise in the prevalence of obesity. In Taiwan the reported
symptoms of allergies and airway hyper-reactivity increased in correlation with
each 20% increase in body mass index (BMI) indicative of obesity.. Several
factors associated with obesity may play a role in the pathogenesis of asthma,
including decreased respiratory function due to a buildup of fat "adipose
tissue" and the fact that this adipose tissue leads to a pro-inflammatory
state that has been related with non-eosinophilic asthma.
Asthma has also been associated with Churg–Strauss syndrome, and
people with immunologically mediated urticaria can also experience systemic
symptoms with generalized rhino-conjunctivitis, urticaria, orolaryngeal
and gastrointestinal symptoms, asthma and at the worst anaphylaxis. And
adult-onset asthma has been associated with what is called periocular
xanthogranulomas

You
have a wonderful human body that when given the right nutrients in the right
amounts can heal itself.
"Most people do not consume an optimal amount of all vitamins by diet
alone. Pending strong evidence of effectiveness from randomized trials, it
appears prudent for all adults to take vitamin supplements." - JAMA
Journal of the American Medical Association 6/12/2002 Vol 287
There are
hundreds of studies which show the risk of cancer, heart disease, and other top
killers is reduced by eating more than just the minimal RDA standards.
Prevention
is the main defense from disease. Detoxification and having proper nutritional
balance is the treatment. Natural foods, herbs, vitamins and supplements to

You would not think of exposing yourself to an Atomic Bomb fallout or
excessive X-rays. But not getting enough vitamins and minerals is just as
dangerous. Cells in your body not getting their vitamins and minerals suffer
both DNA and mitochondrial damage. These cells under a microscope look like they
have been hit with radiation. This type of damage may cause you to age faster
and can lead to Cancer
and other degenerative diseases like Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, and others.
