Digestive
System
Digestion is the process of breaking down the
food that you eat in order to get the nutrients needed for the body to operate. Digestion involves both physical and chemical changes in food.
It begins in your mouth where the food is chewed and is beginning to be physically and chemically broken down.
Then the food travels down the esophagus into the stomach then
on to the intestines where the digestion
process is completed as nutrients are absorbed into the blood.
